Finance Committee

The Finance Committee prepares a budget showing proposed cash flow for the next one or two terms when requested by the President or Executive Committee.

To prepare the budget, the Finance Committee does the following:

a.    Obtains the latest financial data from the treasurer, normally in the        form of an Excel spreadsheet on disk or via an email attachment. This        should show income, expenses, bank balances, and money owed to        or by ALI for the most recent six-month period.
b.    Discusses financial data and projections with the Treasurer.
c.    Prepares and prints an Excel spreadsheet that reasonably projects        income and expenses.
d.    Prepares and files required tax returns.
e.    Distributes those projections to the President and Treasurer for       review before the Executive meeting.
f.    Distributes the budget at the Executive Committee meeting and       answers questions from the Committee.
